Single Cartridge Mounted Seals

VGS Repair Kit Available

The VGS seal repair kit permits you to make repairs in the field. Mating rings, O-rings, springs and set screws may easily be replaced at the job site and at a reasonable cost. It is not necessary to return the seal to the manufacturer when repairs are needed. This saves you both time and money.

VGS (Cartridge Mounted Stationary Design Mechanical Seal)

A stationary seal is "a seal design in which the flexible members (such as springs) do not rotate with the shaft but are mounted in the pump housing or gland." The springs in the SEPCO VGS seal are located in the gland and therefore are not required to flex to adjust for misalignment.

Fits Narrow Stuffing Boxes: Seal sizes 1" through 1 3/8" (inclusive) require a 5/16" cross section, and sizes 1 1/2" through 2 5/8" (inclusive) require a 3/8" cross section.
Slotted Glands: The VGS design features a slotted gland that offers more versatility with bolting patterns.
Impeller Adjustments in Service: Disassembling the pump in unnecessary to make impeller clearance adjustments.
Cartridge Mounted: The seal is pre-assembled at the factory, mounted on its sleve and installed in the gland for easy installation.
No Installation Measurements: Mechanics are not required to make critical installation measurements in order to install the seal.
No Shaft Fretting Wear: No shaft fretting wear occurs because the O-ring on the shaft is static and does not move.

GEM Repair Kit Available

The GEM seal is repairable in the field, which allows a reduction in inventory. Mating rings, O-rings, springs and set screws may easily be replaced at the job site for a fraction of the cost. The simple design of the seal allows for easy repair and provides fro consistency in performance of the repair cost.

GEM (Cartridge Mounted Stationary Design Mechanical Seal)

The GEM seal is also available in a bellows design.

A stationary seal is "a seal design in which the flexible members (such as springs) do not rotate with the shaft but are mounted in the pump housing or gland." The springs in the SEPCO GEM seal are located in the gland, therefore are not required to flex to adjust for the misalignment, thus eliminating wear in the secondary areas of the seal.

Fits Narrow Stuffing Boxes: Seal sizes 1" through 1 3/8" (inclusive) require a 5/16" cross section, and sizes 1 1/2" through 2 5/8" (inclusive) require a 3/8" cross section.
Cast Glands: The GEM design features a cast gland that offers improved strength with economy in mind. The gland has a vent and drain connection.
Impeller Adjustments in Service: Disassembling the pump is unnecessary to make impeller clearance adjustments.
Cartridge Mounted: The seal is pre-assembled at the factory, mounted on its sleeve and installed in the gland for easy installation.
No Installation Measurements: Mechanics are not required to make critical installation measurements in order to install the seal.
No Shaft Fretting Wear: No shaft fretting wear occurs because of the O-ring on the shaft is static and does not move.

BSS Repair Kit Available

The BSS seal repair kit permits you to make repairs in the field. Mating rings, O-rings, springs and set screws may be easily replaced at the job site and at a reasonable cost. It is not necessary to return the seal to the manufacturer when repairs are needed. This saves you both time and money.

BSS (Cartridge Mounted Balanced Single Spring Seal)

The SEPCO BSS is a rotary designed, balanced, single spring seal capable of handling higher operating pressures than conventional unbalanced single spring designs. Large coil springs are resistant to clogging and allow the BSS to operate successfully in equipment with end play to 1/8".

Fits Narrow Stuffing Boxes: Seal sizes 1" through 1 3/8" (inclusive) require a 5/16" cross section, and sized 1 1/2" through 2 5/8" (inclusive) require a 3 /8" cross section.
