Single Rotary Seals

HDN Repair Kit
Available

The HDN seal repair kit permits you to make repairs in the field. Rotary seal rings, O-rings, springs and set screws may be easily replaced at the job site and at a reasonable cost. It is not necessary to return the seal to the manufacturer when repairs are needed. This saves you both time and money.

HDN (Heavy Duty Narrow Mechanical Seal)

The SEPCO HDN seal is an inside balanced rotary seal designed for general service. Its beefy cross-section resists distortion at higher operating parameters, yet fits narrow stuffing boxes. Various stationary seat ring designs and materials allow for ease of interchangeability.

Dynamically Balanced: The hydraulic balance is achieved within component parts of the unit. This eliminated the need for special shaft sleeves or costly shouldered shafts.
No Shaft Fretting: Static O-ring eliminated shaft / sleeve wear.
Reusable Sleeves: Since you can reuse your old pump sleeves, this seal can save on the cost of sleeve replacement.
Repairable in the Field: O-rings, springs and new seal faces can be installed in your own shop. This reduces costly inventory while providing consistency and performance of repaired seals.
Isolated Springs: Springs are located out of the fluid away from clogging particles and corrosive penetration.
Ease of Installation: One working dimension common to all HDN seals.
Metal Parts:
Standard Metal Parts: 316 SS
Standard springs and drive pins: Hastelloy C
Standard set screws: 316 SS
Face Materials:
Standard face: High quality chemical grade carbon / graphite.
Also available: Solid nickel bound tungsten carbide and SEPCO carsil.
Standard O-ring materials: Vitron and EPR
Pressures: 300 p.s.i. (g) / 21 Kg/cm Maximum delta P
Temperatures: To 400°F / 204°C

SRS (Short Rotary Mechanical Seal)

Resists Clogging: The O-ring is located at the back of the carbon holder to prevent particle build up.
Dynamically Balanced: The hydraulic balance is achieved within component parts of the unit. This eliminates the need for special shaft sleeves or costly shouldered shafts.
No Shaft Fretting: Static O-ring eliminates shaft sleeve wear.
Reusable Sleeves: Since you can reuse your old pump sleeves, this seal can save you the cost of sleeve replacement.
Isolated Springs: Springs are located out of the fluid away from the clogging particles and corrosive penetration.
Ease of Installation: One working dimension common to all SRS seals.
Short Working Length: The SRS will fit shorter stuffing boxes.
Metal Parts:
Standard metal parts: 316 SS
Standard springs and drive pins: Hastelloy C
Standard set screws: 316 SS
Face Material:
Standard face: High quality carbon / graphite
Standard O-ring materials: Vitron and EPR
Pressures: 300 p.s.i. (g) / 21 Kg/cm Maximum delta P
Temperatures: To 400°F / 204°C

CSO Repair Kit Available

The CSO seal repair kit permits you to make repairs in the field. Mating rings, O-rings, springs and set screws may easily be replaced at the job site and at a reasonable cost. It is not necessary to return the seal to the manufacturer when repairs are needed. This saves you both time and money.

CSO (Corrosive Service Outside Mechanical Seal)

SEPCO's CSO seal is engineered to handle corrosive applications. By taking all of the metal parts out of the fluid, the cost of expensive exotic alloys is eliminated.

Repairable in the Field: O-rings, springs and new seal faces can be installed in your own shop. This reduces costly inventory while providing consistency in performance of repaired seals.
Easily Installed: The CSO seal is not hidden in the stuffing box. It is right out front where you can get to is easily, with no fuss or aggravation. No installation measurements are required.
Easily Maintained: The faces can be examined for wear easily because they are out in the open. Seal faces can also be cleaned easily.
Springs Out of Fluid: The Hastelloy springs are isolated from the fluid, which eliminates corrosion and clogging.
Note: The unit is also available with a split ring for mounting on special sleeve materials. An optional metal band is also available.
Metal Parts:
Standard metal parts: 316 SS
Standard springs and drive pins: Hastelloy C
Standard set screws: 316 SS
Face Materials:
Standard Face: High quality carbon / graphite. High purity ceramic and SEPCO Carsil available in various sizes.
Standard O-ring Materials: Viton and EPR
Pressures: 150 p.s.i. (g) / 11 Kg/cm Maximum delta P
Temperatures: To 250°F / 121°C

DSC (Double Siliconized Carbon Inboard Mechanical Seal)

Hard Rotary Face Material: The rotary face of the seal, the part that gets the wear, is made of SEPCO Carsil, a material so hard it can scratch glass. That means you get six times more wear-resistance than with standard carbon rotary faces.
Hard Stationary Seat: Until recently, most abrasion-resistent seats were made of tungsten carbide, SEPCO Silbide seats are 50% harder.
Superior Corrosion Resistance: Both SEPCO Carsil and SEPCO Silbide face materials are more resistant to corrosives than most standard face combinations. Also, since this seal has no wetted metal parts, exotic alloys are not required.
Compact Design: The compressed working length of the rotary unit is just 1 1/8", short and narrow enough for AVS and ANSI pump installations.
Self Cleaning: A circulation hole through each spring recess provides for a strong flush, keeping solids in suspension to prevent clogging. And since the springs are fitted into drilled holes at both ends, there is no spring distortion at high speeds.
One O-ring: Applications requiring exotic elastomers are less expensive with our single O-ring design.
